Events

Just off the Strand, Toklas is one of the largest and most flexible event spaces in London. With room to seat 150 inside and 100 outside on a beautiful planted terrace, the venue is unbeatable. We have hosted weddings, Christmas parties, birthday celebrations, fashion shows and parties. While utterly central, Surrey Street is a quiet, resident-free side street, which means events can on occasion continue into the night.

Restaurant, Bar Room & Terrace

The venue has a low-key, brasserie-style feel. Design accents such as the vintage parquet floor, iroko tabletops and Børge Mogensen chairs make an elegant foil for bespoke pendant LED lights and comfortable green leather banquettes. The space is versatile with the open kitchen grill that runs along the main dining room. The dining area can be extended into the bar room or closed off. The windowed perimeter of the space opens onto the terrace, providing a large space for outdoor drinks and dining with a retractable awning that provides shade and shelter.

A light, spacious bar room, with mellow furnishings, parquet floor, Gesture chairs by Hans Olsen and a 9m reclaimed iroko bar counter with marble front. Windows run along both sides of the bar providing access to a portion of the garden terrace.

With the recessed sliding wall separating the space from the main restaurant, the Bar Room can be used for a variety of different events ranging from intimate breakfasts, lunches and dinners to cocktail receptions, and networking events.

The room sits behind the Toklas bakery at

9 Surrey Street, beneath the restaurant.

Featuring a projector and AV equipment,

it is a flexible space that can house a private meal or a day-long meeting, talk or screening.

We are currently being flooded with messages saying what a special and fun night it was - it was truly exceptional. The number of people who came up to us amazed by the astonishing standard of the food and drink was very high indeed. It was INCREDIBLE. You and the entire staff at Toklas have been wonderful to us. And I hope you don’t mind us dragging a few of them onto the dance floor at the end (had to be done)! I can imagine it won’t be too long before you see us again, we’ve come to absolutely love Toklas.

We held our daughter's wedding at Toklas last month - civil ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast and party. The staff at Toklas looked after 125 of us superbly from 2pm until 2am on the Monday morning. The food (canapes for the reception, the main meal and late night nibbles) was all excellent and the Toklas bakery made a wonderful wedding cake. Jolita and the events team were always available and made sure everything ran like clockwork. I am even prepared to credit them with organising the beautiful weather which meant we could make full use of the lovely terrace.
